When CIGI was established, career guidance was something that was not heard off commonly. CIGI succeeded in creating a revolution and developing a culture of career guidance in the country, particularly in Kerala. Every other career guidance establishment that came afterwards owes in a way or the other to CIGI. CIGI still remains unique with the core service that it has been offering since its establishment, free and unbiased career guidance to all who approach us.

When we look back at this 25th year, we still feel that career guidance needs to be more localised rather than at certain specific centres. With this aim CIGI established this Silver Jubilee flagship project namely, GRAMADEEPAM. Mahatma Gandhi called villages, the soul of the country. We understand that unless these villages are not empowered through education, the real progress would still be unattainable.

The future of every country lies in the youth, their strength, knowledge and skills. In a country diverse like India, the students residing in the village areas still lack accessibility to potential opportunities and appropriate guidance required to mould their future to achieve their goals. Often students with great skills and talents are not able to come up in flying colours predominantly due to lack of Guidance and Direction.

As these issues are of utmost importance it is inevitable to give it the best attention and intervention. Considering this consequential situation, CIGI decided to address this issue through its initiative GRAMADEEPAM. As the name denotes GRAMADEEPAM will light up the future of students by identifying and nurturing the consciousness, scientific temper and research they possess, which will in turn aid in enabling them to face the challenges of the world today and contribute positively towards national growth.

 VISION

To enable social and educational advancement of the villages through empowering the younger generation through focused mentoring, training and ensuring them the best quality of education and thus enabling the creation of a socially committed, scientifically aware and empowered generation.

MISSION

To identify, develop and nurture scientific temper, social commitment and progressive values among UP, HS and HSS students from villages of the state by identifying their abilities and channelising it towards the achievement of greater goals of the society through scientific guidance and mentoring.
